Assault
In Arizona, a person commits the crime of assault under any of these three different ways:
Intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing a physical injury to another person.
Intentionally placing another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury or
Knowingly touching another person with the intent to injure, insult or provoke such person.
The first one is a Class I Misdemeanor. The second is a Class 2 Misdemeanor even if there is no physical injury to the other person and the third is a Class 3 Misdemeanor.
